[Summit team: Arne, Targo, Katrin, Oliver]
Despite its relatively low height, this has been one of our most extreme highpoint
experiences, mostly due to the deteriorating observation tower on the summit.
Latvia's highpoint is six meters lower than Estonia's, so Latvians wanted to
compensate for that by building a bigger tower on theirs. However, apparently
they ran out of money before the tower was finished, and it has been slowly
falling apart.

From the distance, the tower looks pretty good |

Multilingual signs warn people from climbing up... |

...but this doesn't really deter a determined highpointer |

The lower levels had handrails installed but apparently the building was cancelled before they reached the top. |

The walls were full of holes, and sometimes pigeons flew out of them very suddenly, this plus missing handrails was the scariest part of the climb |

Down again, whew :-) |
