The First Highpoint

We visited the High Point (that's the name of the place, not very imaginative) on November 2nd, 2003. We tried to do it the day earlier, but we reached there at 5pm to find that the road was closed 4:30. Here are the instructions from I-84:
1) Take exit 1 in NY onto SR-23 South
2) Go 4.4miles. You should see a visitor center on the right and a road to the park on left.
3) Turn left into the park
4) Go 1.4miles to the parking lot.
The watchtower is visible for many miles before actually reaching it. It is closed to visitors, however.
